About The Role
Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

This role is an in ‑ office position based at our 10 Bay Street location. Our team is highly collaborative, and much of our work benefits from in ‑ person co ‑ creation , relationship ‑ building , and hands ‑ on partnership with leaders across the organization.
Our Customer Marketing Division is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Analyst to join the Go To Market, team. Your primary focus will be supporting the development and implementation of annual plans for Metrolinx, GO Transit, PRESTO and UP Express, in collaboration with our internal teams and external Agencies of Record. In addition, you will have an opportunity to contribute to strategic thinking and ideation with teams who bring diverse perspectives in developing and implementing our annual brand strategies.
What will I be doing?
- Participate in team meetings related to brand strategy development by providing findings and information that will be useful to senior staff in their decision-making process
- Contribute to brand executional plans and tactics including trafficking ads; develop work back schedules and content calendars
- Collaborate with cross functional teams, ensuring diversity and inclusion is central in the development of marketing materials
- Field research related to transit competitors and best practices by brands
- Compile quantitative and qualitative research findings, prepare reports with recommendations and supporting analysis; integrate knowledge gained into current and future marketing initiatives
- Create PowerPoint decks and presentations for internal teams and external stakeholders
- Leverage and maintains internal and inter-departmental relationships to facilitate data gathering and sharing with key marketing and business contacts
- Advise other employees on topics related to area of expertise, but does not guide employees in their day-to day activities
- Identify data requirements for analysis, including determining appropriate data sources
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Completion of a diploma or a related discipline in advertising, marketing, media studies, business – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
- Demonstrated related experience
- Marketing coordinator experience, internship or co-op through school
- Experience conducting research and analysis to identify data requirements, and data sources
- MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and oral/written/presentation communications skills to prepare proposals, reports, briefing notes, presentations, and/or other supporting documents (e.g. spreadsheets and charts/graphics/maps)
