Job Summary

The AI Implementation Specialist embeds directly with DISA's Uranium teams to identify, design, and build practical AI and automation tools that expedite how the company identifies and tracks resources, plans and tracks characterization work, optimizes internal lab workflows, and manages back-of-house operations across the business. This role bridges technology and operations, working hands-on within the Operations, Commercial, Characterization, Lab, and Permitting teams to understand existing workflows, define standardized processes, and implement tools that integrate with DISA's existing platforms, D365, ArcGIS, Maptek Vulcan, and related systems to reduce manual effort and improve data integrity. The ideal candidate is technically versatile: comfortable configuring business systems, building spatial tools, writing basic code, and translating operational needs into working solutions. This person thrives in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities shift as DISA's resource base grows.

Education/ Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Management Information Systems, GIS, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years' experience applying AI tools (large language models, process automation, or similar) to real business workflows required.
  • Basic coding or scripting ability (e.g., Python, JavaScript, SQL, Power Automate/Power Apps) required.
  • Experience with business systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP/CRM platforms), GIS platforms, and/or resource modeling software preferred.
  • Prior experience in a startup, consulting group, or resource company preferred.

Typical Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Embed with DISA's Operations, Commercial, Characterization, Lab, and Permitting teams to understand current workflows, data flows, and operational pain points firsthand.
  • Define and document standardized workflows across resource identification, site/land tracking, characterization, lab operations and back-of-house operations.
  • Configure, customize, and administer company platforms to create a unified efficient workflow from site identification all the way to resource reporting. Inclusive of pipeline tracking, contract workflows, resource management and back-of-house operations.
  • Build and maintain tools to assist with ArcGIS workflows, inclusive of dashboards, and automated spatial workflows to support site identification, prioritization, and resource tracking.
  • Design and build lightweight AI-powered tools and automations (scripts, Power Automate flows, custom applications, or similar) to expedite resource identification, data entry, and reporting.
  • Partner with the Commercial team, and Characterization team to translate manual or ad hoc processes into repeatable, trackable systems.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to reduce manual effort in resource tracking, back-of-house administration, and reporting.
  • Build internal tools, templates, and dashboards using AI agents, basic coding and scripting skills.
  • Train and support DISA staff on new tools and workflows, ensuring adoption and consistent use across teams.
  • Ensure all data generated from all activities in the business lives in a central data repository that is clean and able to be used.
  • Maintain clear documentation of workflows, tools, and system configurations to support continuity and scalability as DISA grows.
  • Evaluate and pilot new AI, GIS, and business-system technologies, to determine fit for DISA's expanding resource base.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on tool development, adoption, and impact on operational efficiency.
  • Abide by all policies and procedures established by DISA.
  • Assist with any task required by the direct supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), ArcGIS, and working knowledge of Vulcan (Maptek) or similar mine planning/geological modeling software preferred.
  • Basic coding/scripting ability (e.g., Python, JavaScript, SQL, Power Automate/Power Apps) to build and maintain internal tools.
  • Practical understanding of applied AI and automation tools and how to embed them into everyday business workflows.
  • Strong process-mapping and workflow-design skills, with the ability to translate informal or manual processes into structured, trackable systems.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, embedding with technical, commercial, and administrative teams to understand needs and deliver solutions.
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-directed and comfortable operating with ambiguity in a startup environment.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team, supporting shared goals and fostering positive relationships.
  • Adapt to dynamic environments and identify solutions to challenges with flexibility and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain professionalism with high attention to detail, reliability, accountability, and accuracy in all work deliverables.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit and/ or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be able to interact with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
  • To best service our customers, all employees must be able to communicate face-to-face and on the phone with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as typing.
