The Reproductive & Genetic Health (RGH) Sales Specialist is responsible for driving commercial growth and market development of Illumina's reproductive health and clinical genomics portfolio across India. The individual will develop strategic customer relationships, drive clinician engagement and demand generation, support adoption of sequencing and library preparation solutions, and lead commercialization of new applications and initiatives within the reproductive and genetic health segment.
The role requires close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Clinical Application Specialists, Technical Support, and channel partners to accelerate market adoption and achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Growth & Business Development
- Achieve annual revenue, consumables, and growth targets within the assigned territory.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans to expand Illumina's footprint in reproductive and genetic health.
- Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities across hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, fertility centers, genetic testing laboratories, and healthcare institutions.
- Drive instrument placements, consumable utilization, and recurring revenue growth.
Clinician Engagement & Demand Generation
- Build strong relationships with obstetricians, gynecologists, fetal medicine specialists, reproductive medicine specialists, geneticists, laboratory directors, and key opinion leaders.
- Develop and execute demand-generation initiatives to increase awareness and adoption of genomic testing solutions.
- Organize and support scientific meetings, workshops, CMEs, roundtables, webinars, and educational programs.
- Collaborate with customers to expand clinical adoption and utilization of genomic testing services.
Product & Workflow Adoption
- Drive adoption of Illumina sequencing platforms, library preparation solutions, and associated workflows.
- Support customers in implementing end-to-end genomics workflows, from sample preparation through sequencing and analysis.
- Partner with application and technical teams to ensure successful customer onboarding and workflow optimization.
- Promote new products, applications, and workflow innovations to accelerate market penetration.
Market Development & Strategic Initiatives
- Lead commercialization of new reproductive and genetic health applications and solutions.
- Identify emerging market opportunities and develop strategies to expand testing adoption.
- Establish collaborations with healthcare institutions, laboratory networks, and professional societies.
- Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to support business planning and portfolio growth.
Account Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic accounts and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Clinical Applications, Service, Technical Support, and Commercial Operations teams.
- Work closely with channel partners and distributors to maximize market coverage and customer success.
- Maintain accurate opportunity management, forecasting, and CRM documentation.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Genomics, or related discipline.
- Advanced scientific or business degree preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience in genomics, molecular diagnostics, reproductive health, clinical diagnostics, life sciences, or related healthcare markets.
- Proven track record in sales, business development, market development, or commercial roles.
- Experience engaging clinicians, healthcare providers, service providers and healthcare institutions.
- Strong understanding of genomics technologies, sequencing workflows, and clinical applications.
- Commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to translate scientific knowledge into business opportunities.
- Strong collaboration and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Customer-focused with a results-driven mindset.
