HWI has a fantastic opportunity to join our Engineering Team as a Design Technician I.

Summary

The Design Technician I is responsible for maintaining and preparing detailed and accurate CAD shape drawings, CAD refractory lining drawings and bills of materials for simple vessels needed for sales quotes and/or placing the customer order.

Responsibilities

Preparing CAD refractory shape drawings for plant manufacturing

Preparing CAD refractory lining drawings for simple customer vessels

Preparing Excel bills of materials for simple customer vessels

Requirements

-
Requires zero (0) to three (3) years of experience as a Design Technician with project design and CAD experience. Experience in the refractory industry preferred

Requires Associate Degree in CAD Design or Engineering or equivalent experience in a related technical field
Requires knowledge of AutoCAD & CREO software
Requires knowledge of MS Excel and Access for bill of material program and customer databases

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Physical Activity: Requires more than 2/3 of time sitting and 1/3 to 2/3 of time walking and less than 1/3 of time standing, talking or hearing.
Lifting: No lifting required.
Vision: Requires accurate close, color and peripheral vision and the ability to focus.
Environment: Requires more than 2/3 of time working in an office setting with limited exposure.
Noise: Requires exposure to very quiet conditions.
Travel: Limited travel to job site and customer meeting. Approximately 5% travel.
