Job summary
As a Trading Services Senior Associate in the Trading Services team, you will take senior ownership of trade operations with a focus on complex exception resolution and control discipline. You will lead high-impact investigations, ensure clear root-cause documentation and preventive actions, and drive sustainable process improvements. You will also mentor team members and provide escalation support to help the team deliver consistent outcomes.
Job responsibilities
- Own daily operational health for assigned coverage, including exception aging, settlement quality, and control checkpoints
- Lead investigations for high-impact and complex exceptions, ensuring timely resolution and clear stakeholder updates
- Document root cause, corrective actions, and preventive actions in a clear and audit-ready manner
- Strengthen procedures and controls by identifying gaps, updating documentation, and improving control discipline
- Drive process improvements to reduce operational risk, rework, and manual effort
- Support daily operational activities (for example: reconciliations sign-offs, backlog clearance, and reporting support) as required
- Support incident and problem management for operational issues, including appropriate escalation and follow-through to closure
- Coach and mentor junior team members to raise quality, consistency, and ownership
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
- 8 years of relevant experience in trade operations or a closely related operations function
- Advanced understanding of equity and exchange-traded fund (ETF) operations, including key drivers of corporate actions and reconciliations
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex exception investigations, including structured root-cause analysis and preventive action planning
- Strong control discipline, including documentation practices that support audit readiness
- Strong critical thinking with a practical, risk-aware approach to reducing manual effort and improving outcomes
- Confident stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to stay effective under pressure
- Hands-on experience with Python-based automation for data processing, reconciliations, and reporting, including strong debugging skills to identify root cause and ensure stable results
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience coaching others and improving team-wide quality and consistency
- Strong interpersonal skills, including negotiation and influencing across stakeholders
- Experience working effectively in a global environment, adapting communication style across cultures
- Developing experience using AI-powered analytics, workflow automation, or intelligent process tools to drive efficiency gains, reduce manual effort, or improve accuracy in operational processes
