What You'll Do
As a Structural Engineer at TKDA, you'll play an active role throughout the project lifecycle, partnering with civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural professionals to deliver innovative facility solutions.
You will
- Design structural systems for a variety of facilities projects across the Pacific Northwest.
- Prepare structural calculations, construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Develop detailed drawings and models using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Coordinate with multi-discipline project teams to ensure integrated, high-quality designs.
- Participate in model reviews and clash detection efforts.
- Conduct occasional site visits and field verifications of existing structures.
- Perform condition assessments and support construction observation activities.
- Build relationships with clients, project teams, and contractors throughout project delivery.
- Lead or support structural-only and multi-discipline projects from planning and design through construction administration.
- Continue developing your technical leadership and project management skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Structural Engineer (SE) license, or the ability and commitment to obtain Washington SE licensure within one year of hire.
- Five or more years of structural design experience supporting facilities projects.
- Experience designing steel, concrete, masonry, and precast structural systems.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA-3D and/or RAM Structural System.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience collaborating with multi-discipline engineering and architectural teams throughout project delivery.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, contractors, and project team members.
- Ability to travel up to 10% for project meetings, site visits, and construction observation activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer registration in multiple states.
- Structural Engineer (SE) licensure in Washington, Oregon, and/or California.
- Experience managing projects and coordinating client relationships.
- Experience preparing fee proposals and responding to RFPs.
