The Fleet Services Attendant position at the City of Tucson’s General Services Department provides maintenance for the fleet and equipment shops, fleet service yard and various fuel islands. This position will assist with transporting vehicles, vehicle in-take and disposal, and provides minor vehicle servicing.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Fleet Service Supervisor. This position does not supervise.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains cleanliness of fleet and equipment shops, fleet yard, and fuel islands, including disposing of trash, cleaning fluid spills and properly disposing of used and hazardous materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Performs maintenance tasks at various fuel islands, such as manually measuring fuel tank levels, recording the results, and submitting them to the fuel desk for record keeping. Ensures vehicles are ready for delivery or transportation by adding and removing appropriate decals.
- Transports light and heavy vehicles to various service locations, departments, and repair shops. Assists with the intake of various vehicles by inspecting visible damage, leaks or other issues. Retrieves needed parts from vendors while in route to deliver or pick up vehicles.
- Restocks and maintains inventory of shop and fuel island supplies needed for operations, including absorbents and containment supplies.
- Assists with scanning Vehicle Data Recorders (VDRs), researches and enters information gathered into Asset Management System (AMS). Creates work orders for incoming repairs, tracks vehicle service schedules and logs maintenance performed.

- Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.
Working conditions as follows
Work schedule may require early mornings and late evenings.
Often works under the following conditions: exposure to physical, ergonomic, or hazardous environments, which include but not limited to dirt, grime, chemicals, loud noise, and unfavorable odors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Some high school Experience
- Under one (1) year of relevant experience Equivalency
- Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
License/Certifications
Valid and unrestricted Arizona Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Arizona Department of Transportation - Motor Vehicle DivisionValid and unrestricted Arizona Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Arizona Department of Transportation - Motor Vehicle Division Preferred Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.

- Valid and Unrestricted Arizona Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
