A Day in the Life

This role supports the Spine Surgery portfolio, providing clinical expertise, case support, and technical consultation to surgeons and healthcare professionals across key customer accounts in Malaysia. The position partners closely with Sales, Clinical Support, and Regional teams to help ensure product readiness, procedural success, and a high standard of customer support throughout the surgical pathway.

This position is based in Malaysia and follows a flexible work arrangement, with significant field-based responsibilities at customer sites and hospitals. Travel is expected for approximately 70% of working time to support customer cases, training activities, and business needs across the assigned territory.

As a Senior Clinical Specialist, you will serve as a clinical and technical expert supporting surgeons, operating room staff, and sales partners within assigned accounts. The role focuses on providing intraoperative support, ensuring product and implant availability, delivering customer education, and identifying opportunities to expand adoption of Medtronic technologies while maintaining high levels of clinical service.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site clinical and technical support during surgical procedures, including intraoperative troubleshooting and product utilization guidance.
  • Ensure instrument readiness, implant availability, and procedural support to help facilitate successful case outcomes within assigned customer accounts.
  • Deliver product education, training programs, and clinical consultations for surgeons, healthcare professionals, and hospital staff.
  • Partner with Sales representatives to develop and execute account plans that support customer needs and business objectives.
  • Serve as the clinical subject matter expert for assigned products and therapies, translating clinical evidence and technical information into customer-focused solutions.
  • Support customer case coverage across high-volume accounts and maintain consistent clinical service levels for key opinion leader (KOL) hospitals and stakeholders.
  • Participate in conferences, conventions, workshops, and professional forums to increase product awareness and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Identify and support growth opportunities by collaborating with Sales, Clinical Support, and regional stakeholders to expand therapy adoption and customer engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and 8+ years, Associate Diploma and 6+ years, or Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of relevant clinical, medical device, healthcare, or healthcare technology experience.
  • Experience providing clinical support, operating room support, case coverage, or customer-facing technical support within a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to independently manage clinical responsibilities across multiple customer accounts with limited supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage surgeons, hospital staff, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% within Malaysia based on business and customer requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting spine surgery, or other procedural-based medical device therapies.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with commercial teams to support account growth, customer adoption, and business objectives.
  • Experience delivering clinical education, product training, or professional development programs for healthcare professionals.
  • Working knowledge of operating room workflows, surgical instrumentation, implants, and hospital procurement processes.
  • Experience supporting key opinion leader (KOL) accounts, tertiary hospitals, or high-volume surgical centers.
