CNC Fabrication Equipment Operator

Starting Pay: From $23.00 per hour (higher compensation may be available based on experience)

Position Overview

We are looking for a dependable CNC Equipment Operator to support structural steel fabrication operations. This position is responsible for operating CNC-controlled machinery used to process steel components while ensuring quality, accuracy, and safe production practices.

The ideal candidate has experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment, understands fabrication drawings, and is comfortable operating industrial equipment in a fast-paced production setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC fabrication equipment, including plasma cutters, beam drill lines, and angle lines.
• Read blueprints, fabrication drawings, and production work orders to determine project requirements.
• Load, position, and secure steel beams, plates, and other materials using overhead cranes and rigging equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and production accuracy.
• Inspect completed parts using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other precision measuring tools.
• Make basic CNC program edits to accommodate different material sizes and thicknesses.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor machine issues.
• Follow OSHA guidelines and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school education is a plus.
• At least 2 years of CNC machine operating experience in structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret structural steel blueprints and shop drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Familiarity with overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment is preferred.
• Strong mechanical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to work independently while also contributing to a team-oriented production environment.
