Job Description

Director of Manufacturing Product-Test Engineering

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Leader with strong FPGA and ATE experience to support sustaining and manufacturing activities for next-generation programmable logic and high-speed digital products. This role involves sustaining High Volume Manufacturing activities interfacing with the OSATs in Malaysia, Taiwan and Korea. This position will also oversee sustaining of ATE test programs, Sort/Package test yields, Bring up new test setups in OSATs with stable yields, Monitor and improve test outputs across OSATs and ensuring a smooth transition from engineering to high-volume manufacturing.

This position is based in Penang/Malaysia

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Leads/Engineers working on product sustaining activities supporting volume ramp
• Manage all OSAT Test engineering activities in Malaysia, Taiwan and Korea. Build relationship with OSATs, work with them to identify the opportunities to improve delivery and meet quarterly targets partnering with Manufacturing Planning team.
• Partner with Manufacturing Planning team and address all test engineering issues in OSATs to sustain and expand the test capacity to meet the volume ramp.
• Own Product cost roadmap for all high-volume products in manufacturing
• Own Test capacity expansion and migration in OSATs. Experience with Teradyne NXT / Advantest T2K / Teradyne UFLEX
• Production Support: Partner with global manufacturing teams to release test programs and support high-volume ramps; address test escapes and yield excursions.
• Optimization: Reduce test time and optimize flows for cost efficiency without compromising quality.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development teams to define requirements and close coverage gaps.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree + 15+ years related experience, or Master’s Degree + 12+ years related experience

Skills/Experiences

• Familiar with OSAT systems and processes
• Possess strong communications skills – able to communicate with ASE Engineering and Planning teams
• Strong analytical skills and experience in managing production processes and project management skills
• Strong in process and quality controls
• Experience with Advantest T2000 and Teradyne UltraFlex testers (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of loadboard/probecard design, socket selection, and handler integration.
• Experience with extreme temperature testing and characterization on ATE.
• Experience in Test Program Methodologies, Handler/Tester maintenance background, and Probe Card / Loadboard maintenance
• Test Setup Procedures and requirements, with problem solving abilities
• Familiar with Leadscan and Test Back-end operations
