Job Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION: Machine old and new details for dies, fixtures, and welders and to assist Tool and Die makers in repair and maintenance of progressive, transfer and hand-transfer stamping dies

RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to supervisor, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representative.

  • Work on blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to machine die and weld fixture details
  • Support all departments with machining needs
  • Assure safe operation and maintenance of Toolroom equipment
  • Assist Tool and Die Makers in die repair and maintenance
  • Set up and operate basic Tool room equipment with little assistance
  • Housekeeping and other activities assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Experience working as a Machinist

EDUCATION

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Vocational School/Training Preferred
  • Machine Shop
  • Blueprint reading
  • Advanced mathematics Geometry

SKILLS

  • Ability to read tool and die designs and prints
  • Basic and advanced math skills required (trigonometry)
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to communicate well with others
  • Excellent teamwork skills required
  • Individuals to be mechanically inclined, self-motivated and reliable
  • Individuals must observe all safety regulations to ensure own and others’ safety
  • Ability to work overtime as required

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS USED

  • Toolroom machinery including CNC machines, lathes, milling machine, surface grinders, drill press, saws; hand tools
  • Precise measuring equipment
