About The Role

The EMEA Logistics Specialist is responsible for leading and optimizing interregional transportation operations across Ocean and Air freight networks. This role focuses on delivering superior service performance, cost efficiency, transit reliability, and operational excellence through effective carrier management, data-driven decision making, and cross-functional collaboration.

The successful candidate will drive transportation performance, lead continuous improvement initiatives, manage critical logistics escalations, and partner with key stakeholders to support business growth and supply chain objectives.

Here, you will make an impact by

  • Leading and optimizing international transportation operations across Ocean and Air freight for inter regional flows, driving improvements in service, cost, transit time, and overall supply chain performance.
  • Owning carrier and logistics service provider relationships, establishing service expectations, monitoring KPIs and SLAs, conducting performance reviews, and driving corrective actions to improve service reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities across transportation networks, leveraging process optimization, root cause analysis, and best practices to improve transit performance, reduce lead times, and deliver cost savings.
  • Utilizing data analytics, reporting, and performance dashboards to evaluate lane, carrier, and network performance, identify trends and opportunities, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Supporting transportation strategy development by evaluating network performance, market trends, carrier capabilities, and emerging opportunities to enhance supply chain resilience and competitiveness.
  • Promoting operational excellence by standardizing processes, implementing best practices, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, completed and verified before start date.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in international transportation and logistics within a manufacturing environment, with solid, demonstrated expertise specifically in Ocean and Air freight (carrier/forwarder coordination, booking, documentation) — domestic road/distribution experience alone does not meet this requirement.
  • Strong expertise in carrier and 3PL management, including SLAs, KPI tracking, and performance governance.
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms, international trade compliance, customs documentation, and dangerous goods regulations (IATA DGR / IMDG) for ocean and air modes.
  • Experience using data analytics, KPI management, and continuous improvement methods to drive measurable results, with strong analytical skills to interpret shipment and performance data.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including inbound/outbound logistics.
  • Excellent business English (written and verbal) and strong stakeholder management/communication skills in a global, matrix environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced data analysis, Pivot Tables, lookup functions, and Logistics data analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Ability to develop and analyze transportation KPIs, dashboards, and performance reports.
  • Experience with shipment visibility and tracking platforms.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools preferred.

  • Travel - May include up to 10% domestic/international
  • Relocation: Not authorized
  • This role has on-site working model, with the employee working at least four days a week in the designated 3M office
  • Working pattern - full time
