Duties and responsibilities of the position

Support all phases of the underwriting processes including but not limited to

  • Set up new and renewal business files.
  • Clerical/admin support for the Safety & Loss Control department
  • Communicate with Head Office departments as needed.
  • Set up new policy documents and maintain integrity of files.
  • Premium processing for policies and endorsements
  • Set up reinsurance certificates in electronic system.
  • Processing policies and endorsements within written guidelines
  • Bill premium for premium bearing transactions
  • All other tasks that may be assigned by underwriters.
  • Data Entry
  • Enter policy data into various Starr platforms- SPARC, RMS, Salesforce etc.

Skills/Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a Property Insurance company
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications: Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Accuracy and speed in data entry and typing tasks.
  • Problem solving, analytical and detailed.
  • Good at complying with deadlines.
  • Comfortable working within a team
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000-$85,000
