Calibre Steel is seeking a reliable and hardworking Steel Warehouse Storeperson to join our team on a full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, working as part of a team and taking pride in maintaining a safe, organised and productive warehouse and yard environment.

About the Role

You will be responsible for receiving, storing, picking and preparing steel products for customer deliveries, while ensuring all materials are handled safely, accurately and efficiently.

The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:00pm. Once you are fully trained and able to work independently, these hours may transition to 8:00am to 4:00pm, subject to operational requirements.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Receiving and checking incoming steel products and materials
  • Picking and preparing steel orders for customer deliveries
  • Loading and unloading trucks using forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Correctly identifying, measuring and handling a range of steel products
  • Ensuring orders are accurate and ready for dispatch
  • Assisting drivers with loading and securing loads where required
  • Conducting stock checks and assisting with inventory control
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse and yard
  • Following all workplace health and safety procedures and company policies
  • Working effectively as part of a team to meet daily dispatch requirements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, steel, transport, logistics or similar industrial environment
  • Previous forklift experience and/or a relevant forklift licence
  • Previous overhead crane experience
  • A strong understanding of workplace health and safety
  • The ability to safely handle and move heavy materials
  • Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A reliable work ethic and positive attitude
  • The ability to work outdoors in a busy warehouse and yard environment
  • The physical fitness required to perform manual handling duties
  • The ability to follow instructions and work independently when required
  • A commitment to working safely and maintaining a high standard of housekeeping
  • Experience handling steel or other heavy industrial products
  • Knowledge of steel products, sizes and measurements
  • Previous experience in transport, logistics or dispatch
