About The Role

BMS Engineer

We are seeking a talented and motivated BMS Engineer to support the design, programming, commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of Building Management Systems across a variety of projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge building automation solutions, collaborating with project teams and customers to deliver high-performing, energy-efficient facilities.

What You Will Do

  • Design, configure, program, and commission Building Management Systems (BMS) for commercial, pharmaceutical, industrial, and data centre projects.
  • Develop control strategies, system graphics, alarms, trends, and integrations to meet customer requirements.
  • Support the delivery of projects from initial design through commissioning, testing, and handover.
  • Perform system validation, functional testing, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable system performance.
  • Collaborate with project managers, commissioning engineers, contractors, and customers throughout project execution.
  • Conduct site surveys and assess existing building systems for upgrades, expansions, and optimization opportunities.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during installation, commissioning, and operational phases.
  • Support customer training and provide technical guidance on system operation and maintenance.
  • Ensure all work complies with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Produce technical documentation including control drawings, points schedules, test records, and commissioning reports.
  • Participate in system upgrades, service activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

How You Will Do It

  • Apply engineering expertise to develop effective control solutions that optimize HVAC and building performance.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Utilize BMS software tools to program controllers, develop system graphics, and configure integrations.
  • Perform detailed testing and commissioning activities to ensure systems operate according to design intent.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and controls-related issues.
  • Support project teams in meeting customer expectations, programme milestones, and quality objectives.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
  • Promote a customer-focused approach while adhering to health, safety, and quality standards.

What We Look For

  • Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC controls, or industrial automation systems.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, and control principles.
  • Experience commissioning, programming, or supporting building automation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and control diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with customers, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team.

Highly Advantageous

  • Experience with BMS platforms such as Johnson Controls Metasys, Niagara, Trend, Distech, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Honeywell, or similar systems.
  • Experience working in pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, data centre, or other mission-critical environments.
  • Understanding of network protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, KNX, or MQTT.
  • Experience integrating third-party systems including HVAC, power monitoring, fire alarm, and security systems.
  • Knowledge of energy management, sustainability, and smart building technologies.
  • Electrical, Controls, Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical qualification.
  • Relevant industry certifications and commissioning experience.
