Job Summary

The Driver Helper is responsible for assisting the driver with day-to-day delivery and operational activities. This includes loading and unloading the truck, handling and verifying freight, supporting route execution, and completing other duties needed to provide safe and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately load and secure freight for daily delivery routes.
  • Scan and verify all route freight before departure.
  • Assist drivers with route navigation and delivery coordination.
  • Help transport freight to customer business and residential locations.
  • Pull, stage, load, and unload freight using manifests and established operating procedures.
  • Perform material-handling duties, including picking, packing, scanning, kitting, and inventory counts.
  • Identify and report overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D).
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, when trained and authorized.
  • Follow detailed work instructions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain compliance with TSA, OSHA, company safety requirements, and customer-site rules.
  • Provide professional customer service and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Ability to read maps and maintain general geographic awareness.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules when required.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday. Employees must be able to regularly lift and move products weighing up to 75 lbs. unassisted and safely operate material-handling equipment as required.

Safety Expectations

Employees are expected to comply with all company safety policies, applicable DOT requirements, OSHA standards, TSA requirements where applicable, and customer-site safety rules. Employees must immediately report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, equipment damage, cargo damage, and regulatory concerns.

Shift: Shift is M-F, 4x10 hour days. (schedule rotates so the team members will get one day off during the week).

Pay Range

$18.00 to $21.00 per hour

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
