About The Role
The Center for Computational Neuroscience (CCN) is currently seeking a full-time Administrative Coordinator to support the growing financial and administrative operations of the Center in a collaborative environment.
The Administrative Coordinator will be expected to work closely and in collaboration with other members of the admin team, as well as the Center’s scientific leadership. The Administrative Coordinator will play an integral role in implementing the Center’s policies and procedures, and will be vital in maintaining a welcoming, supportive, and well-organized environment.
This is a full-time position based at the Simons Foundation’s New York City offices. Employees are expected to work on-site four days per week and may occasionally be required to work on-site five days per week. Visit the Simons Foundation’s careers page to learn more.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a primary point of contact for guests and build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide administrative support to CCN’s scientific leadership, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, preparing expense reports and assisting with other tasks as needed.
- Support CCN’s scientific programming, including seminars, workshops and group lab meetings. Responsibilities may include coordinating with organizers and speakers, arranging travel, processing reimbursements, managing calendars, and ordering catering.
- Update and maintain the center’s website, databases, publications, mailing lists, and event information.
- Proactively coordinate internal and external CCN activities, including scheduling appointments and arranging travel for conference participation, in partnership with the Events team.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree
Experience
- At least two years of experience providing high-level administrative support, including project management.
- Experience managing complex calendars, coordinating travel and handling confidential information.
- Experience in a scientific research or academic environment is preferred.
Related Skills & Other Requirements
- Strong organizational skills, consistent accuracy and careful attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple complex assignments and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with word-processing, spreadsheet and database software in a macOS environment.
- Experience using cloud-based applications such as Google Workspace, Dropbox and Concur.
- Resourcefulness, sound judgment and the ability to take ownership of responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture.
- Willingness and ability to work occasional evenings.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- The full-time annual compensation range for this position is $72,000 – $78,000, depending on experience.
