About the role

Senior Commercial Analyst

Join AGL's Credit & Affordability team and play a key role in shaping commercial decisions that support more than 4 million customer services and approximately $8 billion in annual billings across AGL's retail portfolio. Reporting to the Commercial Insights & Analytics Manager, you'll partner with operational leaders to deliver financial insights, strategic analysis, and data-driven recommendations that influence business performance. From forecasting and financial modelling to scenario planning, business case development, reporting, and performance analysis, you'll help drive informed decision-making across a critical area of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial planning, forecasting and performance analysis for the Credit & Affordability portfolio, identifying key risks and opportunities.
  • Develop financial models, business cases and scenario analyses to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Deliver commercial insights and recommendations that drive informed decision-making and business performance.
  • Utilise Power BI, SQL and large datasets to generate actionable insights and improve reporting effectiveness.
  • Prepare executive-level reporting and presentations that translate complex data into clear business outcomes.
  • Partner with leaders across Finance, Credit & Affordability and Customer Operations to strengthen commercial governance and deliver strategic results.

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in a commercial, finance, strategy or analytical role within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong capability in financial forecasting, budgeting, modelling and scenario analysis, with a track record of translating data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience working with large datasets, Power BI, SQL and Excel.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, develop robust business cases and drive commercial outcomes through data-driven decision-making.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business, Mathematics or a related discipline, with experience in credit, collections, financial services, utilities or other data-rich environments highly regarded.
