About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Winemaker / Site Manager, you will be the site leader for Quality, Health, Safety, Environment and Compliance, partnering closely with winemaking, operations, technical teams and corporate stakeholders to ensure best-practice systems are embedded, effective and continuously improved.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll drive a quality-first and zero-harm culture while ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer and company standards. You will also oversee laboratory operations, supporting performance, capability development and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead site Quality, Food Safety, Health, Safety and Environmental compliance programs.
- Drive a culture of quality right first time and proactive risk management.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, FSQM, customer, regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Coordinate and lead external audits, certifications and internal assurance programs.
- Manage quality, safety and environmental incidents, investigations and corrective actions.
- Oversee laboratory operations, performance, budgeting and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage site risk registers, emergency preparedness programs and compliance reporting.
- Partner with operational leaders to strengthen capability, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and report on key quality, laboratory and HSE performance metrics.
- Support sustainability initiatives and environmental management objectives.
About You
You are a confident and collaborative leader who thrives in operational environments and is passionate about building safe, compliant and high-performing workplaces.
You'll bring
- Experience in Quality, HSE, Compliance or Operational leadership within manufacturing, FMCG, food and beverage, wine, agricultural processing or similar industries.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, food safety standards and compliance frameworks.
- Experience leading audits, investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action programs.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive behavioural change across diverse teams.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Financial and operational management capability, including budget oversight.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Operations, Engineering, Science, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
