Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you have a strong background in finance and business operations? Suffolk County Council is looking for a proactive and motivated Business and Finance Officer to join our Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Team within Adult Social Care.

What you will do

  • Support the Business and Finance Team in delivering key financial and operational services.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to locality-based staff across Suffolk.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payments to care providers.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance business processes.
  • Resolve complex queries and deliver effective solutions.
  • Deliver training and support to care providers.
  • Interpret, analyse, and present data to support decision-making.
  • Manage, motivate, and develop team members through effective line management.

You will need

  • An ILM Level 3 or 5 qualification in Business Management, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of financial processes and experience using finance systems such as Oracle.
  • Proven line management experience, including supporting and developing staff.
  • Excellent communication, IT, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to lead change, build positive relationships, and work collaboratively.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for people in Suffolk.
