About The Role

DescriptionJob Purpose

  • Anthony House is a residential facility that serves vulnerable populations including single females and substance misusing pregnant or postpartum women who are motivated to make positive changes in their lives. The Residential Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive support and supervision to residents during the assigned shift. This role is pivotal in ensuring a safe, supportive, and structured environment that promotes the well-being and personal development of individuals within the residential program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor residents to ensure safety and adherence to program rules and guidelines.
  • Facilitate and support daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and recreational activities.
  • Implement individualized care plans and document residents' progress and any incidents during the shift.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to provide consistent and comprehensive care.
  • Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to residential care.
  • Foster a positive and therapeutic environment that encourages resident engagement and participation.

QualificationsRequired Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a residential or behavioral health facility.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Familiarity with case management and treatment planning.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software related to documentation and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
  • Knowledge of mental health disorders and therapeutic approaches.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
