We're looking for a hands-on, self-directed Corporate IT Engineer to be the first dedicated IT presence at our new London Receiving Center. This is a foundational role - you'll build, maintain, and own the day-to-day IT operations for the site, working closely with our global Corporate IT team based in Santa Ana, CA.
You'll be the local expert for everything from network infrastructure and physical security systems to end-user support and vendor coordination with UK-based providers. This site operates under our uptime commitments to key partners including eBay, making reliable, responsive local IT support a business-critical requirement.
You’ll report to the IT Supervisory Manager and work from our London, UK office.
Onsite Requirement
This role requires you to be onsite in the office 5 days per week.
What You'll Do
Site Infrastructure & Operations
- Own day-to-day IT operations for the London Receiving Center — network, endpoints, physical security, and communications infrastructure
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for all IT support requests, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues with urgency
- Coordinate with UK circuit providers (fiber, WAN) and local vendors for installation, maintenance, and issue resolution
- Support the physical buildout of the facility — cabling, camera and access control installations, switch racking, and IDF setup — in coordination with the global network team
End User Computing
- Deploy, configure, and manage workstations, laptops, tablets, label printers, barcode scanners, and mobile devices for all London employees
- Manage device lifecycle — procurement, imaging, provisioning, refresh, and decommission — in line with global standards
- Support onboarding of new hires with timely equipment setup, account provisioning (Okta, Google Workspace, Slack), and orientation to systems
Physical Security & Surveillance
- Operate and maintain the IP camera system (Cisco Meraki MV) for chain-of-custody coverage across grading and receiving operations
- Manage access control systems — card readers, door controllers, HID credentials — and support day-to-day access provisioning and revocation
- Coordinate with the global Physical Security team on compliance, audits, and system upgrades
Networking & Connectivity
- Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN performance, ensuring high availability for eBay-facing receiving operations
- Escalate and manage circuit issues with UK providers in coordination with the global network team
- Support Cato Networks Zero Trust client configuration and troubleshooting for UK-based endpoints
Vendor & Asset Management
- Serve as the local point of contact for UK-based IT vendors, suppliers, and service providers
- Maintain accurate asset inventory (hardware, licenses, peripherals) using Endpoint Central MDM
- Coordinate hardware procurement through Coupa in partnership with the global procurement team
Collaboration & Global Alignment
- Participate in weekly IT Sprint Reviews and Corp IT Leadership syncs (remote, US time-zone flexibility required for some meetings)
- Document configurations, runbooks, and site-specific procedures to global IT standards
- Provide after-hours and on-call support as needed given the site's operational hours and eBay uptime commitments
Who You Are
Required
- 3–5 years of hands-on IT support and infrastructure experience, ideally in a fast-paced operational or logistics environment
- Solid networking fundamentals - TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, Wi-Fi (Cisco Meraki or equivalent preferred)
- Experience deploying and supporting Windows and macOS endpoints at scale
- Familiarity with MDM/endpoint management tools (ManageEngine Endpoint Central, Jamf, Intune, or similar)
- Experience with IP camera systems and physical access control hardware
- Strong troubleshooting skills — able to diagnose and resolve issues independently without always having senior backup on-site
- Excellent communication skills — able to work effectively across time zones with a remote global team
Preferred
- Experience with Cisco Meraki (switching, Wi-Fi, MV cameras)
- Familiarity with Zero Trust / SASE platforms (Cato Networks, Zscaler, or similar)
- Experience with Google Workspace, Okta, and Slack administration
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards and MDF/IDF architecture
- Familiarity with ITIL or service management frameworks
- Experience supporting warehouse, fulfillment, or grading operations environments
