Java Back- End Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a talented Java Backend Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs, working in a modern microservices architecture. You will collaborate closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and reliable applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, etc.).
• Design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs .
• Participate in the design, optimization, and maintenance of PostgreSQL database models.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications running on OpenShift .
• Collaborate with frontend engineers working with React to ensure seamless integration between frontend and backend services.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high code quality standards.
• Develop and execute unit tests and support continuous integration practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and proactively improve application performance, scalability, and security.
• Work collaboratively within Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning, estimations, and retrospectives.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in Java backend development .
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and microservices architecture .
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL .
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs .
• Knowledge of Docker containers and OpenShift .
• Experience using Git for version control.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum and/or Kanban).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with React development.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines , particularly GitHub Actions .
• Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure .
• Experience with cloud-native application development and containerized deployments.
• Hybrid  position based in  Málaga, Spain
