BASIC PURPOSE

The Senior Analytics Engineer plays a pivotal role in the CFO division, focusing on the design, development, and deployment of advanced financial analytics systems and processes. This position ensures the seamless operation and continuous improvement of Analytics Engineering infrastructure, addressing any production issues promptly to support the Bank’s strategic goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead the development of complex projects, ensuring compliance with Asset Liability Data Analysis (ALDA) Infrastructure and Standards.
  • Provide support and guidance on infrastructure, standards, financial concepts, and code development solutions to enhance team efficiency, while adhering to Treasury and Bank scripting governance policy.
  • Work with Enterprise Risk Management, Accounting, and Business Operations teams to streamline reporting processes and validation frameworks.
  • Support the maintenance and improvement of Analytics Engineering infrastructure and development standards, including administrative tasks and technology advancements.
  • Collaborate with Data Operations and Governance and other end users to gather requirements, ensure proper documentation, and support post-deployment.
  • Investigate and resolve production incidents reported by Data Operations and Governance and other end users, ensuring solutions are adequate before redeployment.
  • Monitor data accuracy and escalate issues to management or relevant departments for resolution.
  • Utilize Jira and other DevOps management tools to drive efficiency, track projects, monitor progress, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prioritize projects based on business needs, scope, and resource availability, while communicating with the Director of Treasury Data and Reporting as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members on data consistency assurance, code reviews, design of common data structures, and release of reusable code.
  • Work with financial analysts to ensure the accuracy and usability of financial data and analyses.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Must have significant experience in financial analysis and a strong understanding of fixed income accounting concepts
  • Sound knowledge of data-centric concepts including relational databases.
  • Strong Python programming experience.
  • Strong SQL experience.
  • Experience with Git, and any of GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
  • Experience with collaboration software including Airtable, Confluence and Jira.
  • Experience with ETL or ELT tools, or data wrangling tools.
  • Experience with production deployments.
  • Must be able to take responsibility and function independently, while being a good team player.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Analytic mindset.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to develop, maintain and leverage relationships with other teams to support work initiatives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or statistics or equivalent plus 5 years working in development roles in the financial services industry. A master’s degree in data science or quantitative analysis/statistics preferred.

Work Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Atlanta, GA office. This position may not be filled in New Jersey, either in-person or remotely.

Work Schedule: Onsite with an opportunity to work remote partially.
