What you’ll do

The Operational Risk Management (ORM) Student will report to the Director, Operational Risk & Resilience, and work closely with risk professionals and business stakeholders, and support risk governance, controls assessment, regulatory compliance, and risk reporting activities while contributing to key Operational Risk Management initiatives:

  • Support the execution of Operational Risk Management framework activities.
  • Assist in gathering, analyzing, and validating operational risk data from various business units.
  • Prepare risk reports, dashboards, presentations, and management summaries for internal stakeholders.
  • Support the documentation and maintenance of operational risk policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Participate in control testing, risk assessments, and process reviews to identify potential control gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with tracking risk remediation activities and monitoring progress against action plans.
  • Conduct research on emerging risks, industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices.
  • Support third-party risk management, resilience, business continuity, or compliance initiatives as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote risk awareness and strengthen risk culture across the organization.
  • Perform data analysis using Excel and other reporting tools to identify trends and support decision-making.

What you bring

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in risk management, governance, compliance, operational resilience, or financial services.
  • Knowledge of operational risk management concepts, internal controls, or regulatory compliance an asset.
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence tools an asset.
  • Understanding of risk frameworks such as the Three Lines Model, COSO, or Basel operational risk principles an asset.

Broadband Salary Range: $23.00 - $37.00 CAD hourly

Our typical hiring range is between $23.00 and $30.00 hourly. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. We're committed to attracting top talent. For critical roles, the compensation offering will be reviewed to ensure alignment with market rate and conditions and the unique value you bring to the role.
