Summary of Job Duties

The Manager, Supply Chain oversees supply chain operations to ensure the efficient availability, management, and distribution of supplies throughout the UAMS Health Benton/Bryant location. This position is responsible for inventory management, purchasing coordination, product standardization, cost containment, and supply availability while supporting clinical and operational needs. The Manager partners with department leadership, vendors, and other stakeholders to optimize inventory levels, maintain appropriate controls, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure supply chain practices support quality patient care.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Plus 4 years' experience in supply management, preferably healthcare related, including a minimum two years in a supervisory capacity

OR

  • High School Diploma plus 8 years of experience in supply management, preferably healthcare related, including 2 years in a supervisory capacity.

  • Knowledge of medical supplies and inventory control is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in healthcare supply management.

Responsibilities

  • Manages daily supply chain and inventory operations , including ordering, receiving, stocking, replenishment, distribution and management of stock supplies.
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate inventory and PAR levels based on utilization, operational needs, lead times, and other relevant factors to ensure adequate supply availability while minimizing excess inventory and waste.
  • Monitors and improves inventory performance , including inventory accuracy, product utilization, stock rotation, expiration management, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes.
  • Partners with clinical and operational leaders to evaluate supply needs, coordinate non-standard product requests, support product standardization, and identify cost-effective and contract-compliant alternatives without compromising patient care.
  • Provides leadership and supervision to assigned staff , including hiring, training, performance management, scheduling, coaching, and addressing employee performance or operational concerns.
  • Coordinates with vendors, purchasing, clinical departments, and other stakeholders to resolve supply and logistical issues, maintain product availability, and support effective supply chain operations.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities for operational improvement and cost containment by evaluating processes, utilization, inventory practices, service levels, and supply chain performance metrics.

Physical Requirements

  • Medium Work | Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • The Employee is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, general laborer, lab personnel, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard).
  • The employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
