Per Diem CT Technologist - Mount Sinai Brooklyn

About The Role
To perform CT Scan studies of anatomical areas as ordered/directed, according to established standards and procedures.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Duties include: (but not limited to) perform radiologic examinations on patients referred by physicians in accordance with radiologic protocols.
- Must be competent routine diagnostic, operating room, and portables.
- Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to insure quality diagnostic CT images.
- Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment in order to ensure the equipment is calibrated and working properly before any patient study is performed.
- Injects patients with radioactive material as per the physician’s order following the prescribed protocol.
- Observes all department documentation policies by filling in all appropriate logs, manuals, charge documents, as well as, reporting equipment problems in order to comply with regulatory agencies.
- Performs quality control, quality assurance and safety tests. Follow radiation safety guidelines to comply with ALARA principle.
- Maintains and develops and retrieves patient films and electronic date for Radiologist interpretation
- Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses 1-day prior to use.
- Receives radiopharmaceutical on day of delivery and verifies proper receipt as per policy and procedure. Verifies activity level of the does prior to administration.
- Must be able to evaluate radiographs for technical acceptability.
- Must be comfortable working in an Emergency Department setting.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- NY State DOH License and registration certificate in Radiologic Technology
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- 1 years minimum experience, including OR procedures and portables
- Proficiency in Fluoroscopic / portable radiology / OR procedures
- Knowledge of McKesson PACs and image cast Radiology Information systems (RIS)
- Experience in digital & computed radiography
Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $70.00 - $70.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
