Presbyterian Medical Group's Pediatric Clinic is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional care to infants, children, adolescents, and their families while supporting providers in a fast-paced outpatient pediatric setting.

This position offers a built-in career ladder, allowing qualified candidates to be considered for either the Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II level based on education and experience. Medical Assistant I employees have the opportunity to progress to Medical Assistant II through completion of required training and competency requirements. Information on MA I and MA II progression requirements is consistent with Presbyterian's Medical Assistant career ladder guidelines.

Responsibilities

*Responsible for performing medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within organizations MA scope of work, under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy.
*Prepares patient for rooming and exam
*Prepares and administers medications and immunizations
*Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes
*Collects and prepares laboratory specimens
*Provides basic education to patients
*Sets up aseptic and sterile procedures
*Performs office-based procedures
*Assists with additional procedures as determined by provider
*Participates in the orientation of new hire MAs
*May perform scribe duties after completing PMG scribe training

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Medical Assistant II candidates must possess six (6) months of MA experience or have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Previous healthcare experience preferred.
Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 12 months of hire.
Current BLS certification (AHA, Red Cross, or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required.
Ability to maintain required certifications and complete all organizational, departmental, and position-specific competency requirements within designated timeframes.
