Presbyterian Medical Group's Pediatric Clinic is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional care to infants, children, adolescents, and their families while supporting providers in a fast-paced outpatient pediatric setting.

This position offers a built-in career ladder, allowing qualified candidates to be considered for either the Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II level based on education and experience. Medical Assistant I employees have the opportunity to progress to Medical Assistant II through completion of required training and competency requirements. Information on MA I and MA II progression requirements is consistent with Presbyterian's Medical Assistant career ladder guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • *Responsible for performing medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within organizations MA scope of work, under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy.
  • *Prepares patient for rooming and exam
  • *Prepares and administers medications and immunizations
  • *Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes
  • *Collects and prepares laboratory specimens
  • *Provides basic education to patients
  • *Sets up aseptic and sterile procedures
  • *Performs office-based procedures
  • *Assists with additional procedures as determined by provider
  • *Participates in the orientation of new hire MAs
  • *May perform scribe duties after completing PMG scribe training

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant II candidates must possess six (6) months of MA experience or have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 12 months of hire.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA, Red Cross, or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required.
  • Ability to maintain required certifications and complete all organizational, departmental, and position-specific competency requirements within designated timeframes.
