Your role

As a Corporate trade manager you’ll be responsible for leading and overseeing Mexico trade compliance activities, with an emphasis on IMMEX compliance, Annex 24 inventory control, BOM, Annex 30 and trade compliance data management, maintenance of certified company regulatory requirements, tariff classification support, customs technical reviews, and proper application of preferential trade programs, including USMCA. The role provides day-to-day compliance guidance, drives process ownership and controls, supports audit readiness, and coordinates compliance activities across Mexico operations. Responsibilities

IMMEX Compliance

  • Lead IMMEX compliance activities, ensuring full adherence to applicable legal requirements and internal controls.
  • Oversee Annex 24 inventory control processes, including inventory accuracy, reconciliations, data consistency, reporting, and audit readiness.
  • Manage BOM and trade compliance data within the trade system to support accurate customs declarations, FTA analysis, IMMEX controls, and regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure appropriate management of imports and exports, addressing discrepancies and compliance risks proactively.
  • Manage related regulatory programs, including Annex 30 (VAT Certification), certified company requirements, and other applicable authorizations where applicable.

Trade Compliance & Regulatory Requirements

  • Interpret and apply Mexico customs regulations, internal standards, and international trade requirements, providing practical guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Support tariff classification activities and customs technical reviews, including evaluation of product information, documentation, and regulatory treatment.
  • Own and strengthen internal controls, compliance monitoring, and audit support activities.
  • Identify risks and opportunities to enhance compliance processes, documentation, and operational execution.
  • Assess business impact of compliance requirements, classification decisions, program changes, and operational gaps, escalating risks and recommended actions as appropriate.

FTA Analysis (USMCA Focused)

  • Lead detailed FTA eligibility assessments and rule-of-origin interpretation, including tariff shift analysis and regional value content (RVC) calculations.
  • Oversee review and validation of USMCA certificates of origin, supplier declarations, and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with Engineering, Procurement, and Finance to evaluate how product design, sourcing changes, or BOM structures impact USMCA eligibility and duty exposure.
  • Maintain governance over FTA documentation and ensure compliance with applicable recordkeeping requirements.
  • Lead training and awareness efforts on USMCA and other applicable FTAs.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to optimize duty savings through responsible and compliant use of preferential trade programs.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a primary trade compliance partner for Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, Tax, and customs brokers.
  • Provide guidance and decision support on compliance considerations for new projects, system changes, sourcing decisions, and operational adjustments.
  • Coordinate compliance activities across Mexico operations to promote consistency, readiness, and alignment with corporate trade compliance standards.
  • Lead internal stakeholder training on IMMEX and trade compliance requirements.

Your background

  • 6-8 years of experience in international trade, customs compliance, IMMEX management, or a related field, with demonstrated ability to lead compliance processes or projects (customs operational experience is a plus).
  • Strong working knowledge of IMMEX requirements, Annex 24 controls, Mexico customs regulations, certified company obligations, and trade programs such as USMCA, PROSEC, and Rule 8th.
  • Experience reviewing customs documentation, managing broker interactions, and resolving trade compliance issues is preferred.
  • Experience with trade system data management, BOM review, tariff classification support, and customs technical analysis is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret regulations, manage compliance requirements, maintain documentation standards, and drive process improvements effectively.
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish and English.
  • Bachelor ’ s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Customs, Business, Law, or related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong compliance judgment, attention to detail, and documentation discipline.
  • Analytical and comfortable leading work involving complex regulations, data, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Clear communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and provide practical compliance guidance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead initiatives, and operate with professionalism and accountability.
