Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Procurement Specialist to support procurement activities that drive operational excellence across our supply chain. In this role, you will manage assigned suppliers, execute purchasing activities, support supplier negotiations, monitor material availability, and proactively address delivery and supply chain risks to ensure quality, cost, and delivery objectives are achieved. You will partner with Planning, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to resolve supplier issues, improve delivery performance, and support production requirements.

As an individual contributor, you will play a key role in managing supplier relationships, mitigating supply chain risks, supporting production continuity, and driving improvements in supplier performance. This position requires strong knowledge of procurement processes, ERP/MRP systems, supplier management, and manufacturing operations.

This remote position is based at our Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What You Will Do

  • Manage procurement activities for assigned suppliers, including part setup, purchase order placement, expediting, and delivery execution.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate ERP/MRP system data, including lead times, periods of supply, safety stock, and other procurement parameters.
  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships while driving performance improvements in quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Conduct supplier negotiations, competitive bids, and sourcing activities to support business and procurement objectives.
  • Monitor supplier performance, identify risks and trends, and proactively address potential shortages, delays, and supply disruptions.
  • Partner with Planners and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve critical shortages, improve supplier deliveries, and close material availability gaps.
  • Resolve receiving, invoice, purchase order, and supplier discrepancies in a timely manner to support material availability and prompt payment.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions with suppliers to resolve recurring delivery and performance issues.
  • Support production readiness reviews, DMP management, and other purchasing activities required to maintain production continuity.
  • Prepare procurement metrics, supplier performance reports, risk assessments, and presentations while supporting audits, leadership reviews, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Prior purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SAP, Agile, or other ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience with competitive bidding, supplier development, negotiations, and supplier performance management.
  • Knowledge of Lean principles, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of contract terms and conditions, FAR/DFAR regulations, and supplier compliance requirements.
