Anesthesiology Overview
Sentara Anesthesiology Specialists is seeking a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist with strong proficiency in regional blocks and is comfortable with caring for pediatric patients, to serve as Medical Director at Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced physician leader. In addition to supervising CRNAs, the Medical Director will need to be a highly effective communicator- one that is comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization and able to successfully partner with facility leadership and ancillary departments.
The Medical Director will provide clinical and operational leadership for the anesthesia program while continuing an active clinical practice. This role will be a 90% clinical and 10% administrative split.
Position Highlights

Qualifications
- Board Certified in Anesthesiology
- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience
- Demonstrated expertise in regional anesthesia with proficiency in regional blocks required
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
- Passion for quality improvement, patient safety, and team development
