About The Role

If you are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer position, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Emerson's Mansfield, OH location is a manufacturer of large industrial actuators. In this role, you will work in a dynamic, high-tech production facility and will be responsible for driving manufacturing excellence through the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement initiatives, and process optimization activities. This role partners closely with operations, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and leadership teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with a strong background in lean methodologies, process improvement, and project management.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be

  • Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead root cause analysis activities using methodologies such as:
  • o 8D
  • o A3 Problem Solving
  • o Fishbone Diagrams
  • o 5 Whys
  • Drive improvements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), labor productivity, first-pass yield, and throughput.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives through productivity improvements and waste elimination.
  • Design complex Tooling, Jigs, Fixtures, Functional Gauging and Facilities Equipment utilizing Solid Works for the design work. Involves analyzing requirements and designing items to accomplish desired purpose.
  • Troubleshoot issues in machining, tooling, or fixturing using root cause analysis tools to identify the source and provide corrective solutions
  • Develop a working knowledge of the facilities capabilities to ensure accurate design for Tooling, Jigs, Fixturing and Gauging.
  • Build and analyze PowerBi Dashboards
  • Collaborate within the team and across departments on projects from inception to completion.

Develop Appropriation Requests for new equipment or software and supported by appropriate cost justifications and reductions.

  • Determine specifications and initiate the purchase of materials and components in support of design requirements.

For This Role, You Will Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Experience in the use of functional and measuring tooling for gauging requirements
  • Problem-solving skills and a self-starter mentality

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • 3 years experience in manufacturing engineering
  • General understanding of machining programming or practice a plus
  • Computer application skills: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Power platform including PowerBi, Oracle, ERP systems
