Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

What a typical day looks like

  • Financial Control & Reporting
  • Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across GBS-supported entities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to global close calendars
  • Drive balance sheet reconciliation governance, ensuring timely resolution of open items and aging reduction
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP/IFRS and local statutory requirements across all in-scope geographies
  • Own internal controls framework (SOX/J-SOX as applicable), coordinating control testing and remediation
  • Statutory, Tax & Audit
  • Lead statutory audit coordination for India and other in-scope entities, ensuring clean audit opinions
  • Oversee direct/indirect tax compliance coordination with in-country tax teams and external advisors
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies
  • GBS Operations & Governance
  • Lead a multi-layered finance controllership team across R2R, statutory reporting, and compliance towers
  • Drive process standardization, SLA/KPI governance, and continuous improvement across the controllership function
  • Own escalation management for control gaps, audit findings, or process breakdowns
  • Partner with Shared Services leadership on transformation initiatives (RPA, AI-driven reconciliation, ERP harmonization)
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary controllership interface between GBS India and global/regional CFO organizations
  • Present control health, audit status, and compliance metrics to senior leadership and audit committees
  • Support M&A, divestiture, or corporate separation (e.g., carve-out/SpinCo) accounting and reporting requirements as needed
  • People Leadership
  • Build and mentor a strong bench of controllership talent; drive succession planning
  • Define capability-building roadmap for the team (technical accounting, systems, automation skills)

The experience we’re looking to add to our team

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) / CPA / CMA or equivalent; MBA Finance a plus
  • 15-18+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5-7 years in a GBS/Shared Services controllership leadership role
  • Strong background in US GAAP/IFRS, SOX compliance, and multi-entity statutory reporting
  • Experience managing large teams (30+ FTEs) in a global, matrixed organization
  • Prior exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, OneStream, Baan, or similar) and finance transformation/automation initiatives
  • Experience with corporate separations, carve-outs, or M&A integration is highly valued
  • Key Competencies
  • Strong stakeholder management across global and regional finance leadership
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity, especially during organizational transitions (e.g., spin-offs)
  • Analytical rigor combined with pragmatic risk-based decision-making
  • Change management and process transformation mindset
  • Executive presence for audit committee and senior leadership interactions
