About The Role
We are excited to welcome a skilled Rough Terrain Forklift Operator to our team. This role is crucial for the smooth operation of our facility, as you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials, particularly long and heavy pipe. Your expertise will contribute to an organized and secure work environment, ensuring our operations run smoothly.
- Operate rough terrain forklifts to transport and handle pipe and other materials, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
- Follow safety protocols and work instructions to maintain a secure work area.
- Inspect and ensure proper handling of pipe during loading and unloading processes, including stacking and blocking.
- Maintain accurate records of pipe lengths, tallies, and inventory, supporting inventory control measures.
- Keep the yard clean, organized, and presentable, adhering to safety and operational standards.
- Report any issues, such as damaged pipe, equipment malfunctions, or unsafe conditions, to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor promptly.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless operations and efficient material flow.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist in loading and unloading materials, working closely with the team to ensure a smooth process.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to coordinate tasks and maintain a cohesive work environment.
- Previous experience operating rough terrain forklifts is preferred, demonstrating a strong understanding of safety practices.
- Valid forklift certification or a willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
- Ability to handle heavy loads, especially pipe, with a focus on safety and precision.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and a commitment to safe work practices.
- Basic numeracy skills for counting and maintaining inventory records.
- Independent work ability, taking initiative, and collaborative team spirit.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Reliable attendance and a positive, safety-conscious attitude.
- Physical capability to perform job duties, including lifting heavy loads, with a focus on safety.
