- This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California.
- Homewood is seeking a Lead Lift Operator to join the Lift & Gondola Operations Department.
Job Summary
Lead Lift Operators are responsible for overseeing and leading the daily operation of their assigned chairlifts. This position plays an essential role in delivering a safe, efficient, and positive experience for all guests while maintaining the highest standards of safety and service. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure chairlift loading and unloading areas are free of debris, smooth, and ready for guest/employee loading and unloading.
- Lead the team and delegates tasks when necessary.
- Set up proper mazes and signage depending on the demand for the day.
- Periodically check signage to ensure it is still up to par.
- Remain engaged, attentive, and focused while safely loading and unloading guests from chairlift carriers.
- Continuously coaches/teaches Lift Operators on proper chair loading techniques.
- Responsible for organizing and scheduling daily breaks and lunches for assigned chairlift.
- Snow removal as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Lift Operator.
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks and provide clear direction to team members.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to apply common-sense reasoning to identify potential issues, anticipate what could go wrong, and take appropriate action.
- Responsible for guest safety and preventing injury; ability to identify and address potential hazards.
- 18 years of age or older.

- Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
- Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $22.60-$27 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
