A day in the life
Prologis is looking for a Procurement Manager – General Contractors & Services to support the European procurement organization, with a focus on General Contractors, construction-related services, and selected operational service categories across Europe. The role adds value by structuring competitive sourcing processes, supporting fact-based commercial decisions, and strengthening supplier management across European markets. Based in Amsterdam, this role works closely with Development Managers, Operations Construction Managers, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and other internal stakeholders across multiple countries. The role also interacts regularly with General Contractors, service providers, and other suppliers and supports a flexible / hybrid working environment.
Key responsibilities include
- Lead and support sourcing activities for General Contractors and service categories across Europe, including preparation and execution of RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs.
- Partner with Development, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to define scope, align requirements, involve Procurement early, and ensure tender packages are complete and comparable.
- Analyze and level bids, support or lead commercial negotiations, and prepare tender award recommendations that clearly document commercial analysis, supplier positioning, risks, assumptions, and award rationale.
- Qualify, onboard, and rank General Contractors and service providers, while maintaining supplier data on capabilities, experience, financial strength, compliance status, performance, and pipeline availability.
- Develop preferred supplier lists and support a structured supplier management approach, including post-tender and post-project performance reviews and lessons learned.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering, cost optimization, risk reduction, and process improvement, and improve procurement tools, templates, bid forms, and tendering processes.
- Track sourcing activity, savings, supplier performance, and procurement metrics through reporting and dashboards.
Building blocks for success
Required
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, construction, real estate, engineering, or project management.
- Ability to manage tendering processes, including bid comparison, supplier evaluation, and commercial negotiations.
- Ability to analyze technical and commercial information and translate it into clear recommendations.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with Excel.
- Ability to manage stakeholders across Development, Operations, Legal, Finance, and Procurement.
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects across different countries.
- Fluent English.
- Willingness to travel within Europe as needed.
Preferred
- Experience with General Contractors, construction services, facility services, or technical service providers.
- Experience in cost estimation or quantity surveying would be advantageous.
- Additional European language skills.
- Demonstrates willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes.
