The Senior Specialist, HR Shared Service, working without any appreciable supervision, is responsible for the resolution of HR operations issues, such as employee query resolution, data management, process improvement initiatives, and compliance with fairness and consistency in a timely manner. This role designs Standard Operating Protocols and benchmarks to be implemented for HR operational day-to-day tasks, to enhance HR service efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, the role also is a subject matter expert on matters pertaining to HR Shared Service, advising leaders and consulting with teams on HR policies, benefits administration, onboarding, and other HR work processes to ensure a positive work environment across the organization.
This role is hybrid and requires at least 4 days per week onsite in Dearborn, MI.
What you'll do...
- Coordinates with multiple stakeholders to design Standard Operating Procedures and organization-wide policies and practices around HR operations, employee query resolution, data management, and process improvement initiatives, ensuring fairness and consistency in a timely manner in compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Provides advisory and consultation services on technical matters related to HR Shared Service, including HR data management and associated compliance, employee relations support, technology systems used for HR processes, employee issue resolution, process improvement initiatives, and related issues as per organizational practices, procedures, and processes and in line with the required standards and timelines as the organization’s principal Subject Matter Expert on the domain. Maintains close communication with various divisional HR staff, hiring managers, and employee teams to provide rapid accurate responses to inquiries.
- Collaborates with Employee Relations and HR Business Partner teams to provide the necessary procedural and information support to address employee issues and conflicts, working towards timely and effective resolutions. Guides employees and managers in using employee and manager self-service features in HR systems and on HR policy, procedures, and implementation. Resolves escalated customer service delivery issues; recommends and implements solutions to meet service level agreements.
- Collaborates with multiple HR functions including Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partner, hiring managers, and administrative assistants to ensure relevant recruitment documentation and support is delivered accurately within timelines such as periodic hiring report generation, background checks, new hire onboarding, etc.
- Designs and develops training programs and initiatives for HR team members and managers across departments for HR helpdesk support, HR policy interpretation and guidance, benefits administration support, HR reporting, etc., to achieve efficient and streamlined HR service delivery and support the organization's overarching objectives of ensuring employee satisfaction with HR services.
- Identifies process inefficiencies and recommends improvements to enhance HR workflows and optimize service delivery. Collaborates with specialists and associates to implement process enhancements and provides accurate and timely reports to all interested parties about key HR drivers and leading indicators.
- Collaborates with multi-functional teams to deliver special projects such as designing and implementing automation solutions for various HR processes, developing strategies and tools to facilitate seamless remote work and virtual collaboration, facilitating continuous learning and implementing microlearning platforms, etc. involving the development of innovative solutions and procedures to improve employee engagement, and optimize HR processes, consistent with organizational objectives and long-term HR strategy.
- Represents the organization when dealing with regulatory bodies, external consultants/vendors, and other agencies and ensures that the organizational interests and objectives are supported. Collaborates with cross-functional teams and departments to provide specialized support for HR-related processes, ensuring timely and effective solutions within the scope of HR Shared Service.
- Designs specific HR Shared Service communications and HR memos related to employee query resolution, onboarding, payroll, data management, and process improvement initiatives as per organizational processes, leading to the organizational objective of achieving efficient and streamlined HR service delivery and supporting the overall HR Shared Service vision.
- Demonstrates expertise in HR Shared Service subjects such as query management, employee onboarding and offboarding, data management, and HR process improvement initiatives, along with a strong understanding of related concepts and principles. Coaches and guides senior leaders on matters related to HR Shared Service.
You'll have...
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience (Master's preferred).
- 5+ years of HR business partner work including strategic Human Resources work experience, such as policy design, organizational design, etc.

Work Requirements
- Involves occasional (defined as one-third or less of the time) lifting of no more than 10 pounds at a time. This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
Internal applicants: moving into this role may result in an adjustment to your current compensation based on the posted pay range for this role, taking into consideration your qualifications and other relevant factors.
