About the team
Our Czech team, mainly based in Prague, works closely with PwC Germany as a nearshore consulting team supporting transformation projects in the financial services sector. We bring together strong German language capabilities, consulting skills, and understanding of banking, insurance and other FS domains.
We have been fully & seamlessly integrated with PwC Germany but you will also be part of the Czech technology consulting team and will have the opportunity to be involved in activities in both countries.
About your manager
Romana Mrazova is a Manager in PwC’s Technology Consulting practice. Since 2017, she has combined technology consulting with hands-on delivery, working on software development and digital transformation in the automotive and telecommunications sectors, including SAP transformations. Her work covers product management, business analysis, project governance, and test and release management, with a focus on product quality and delivery excellence. Romana brings clarity to complex challenges and helps turn priorities into results. She guides cross-functional teams, improves collaboration and strengthens agile ways of working. She lived and worked in Germany and China and speaks Czech, English and German.
Job description & summary
As a Senior Payment Consultant, you will work on transformational projects for clients in the financial sector, especially banks, insurance companies, and investment firms in Germany. The Payment Specialist supports international consulting projects focused on payments and digital financial solutions for clients primarily in Germany. The role combines business analysis, basic technology understanding, and strong communication skills to contribute to the design and delivery of technology‑enabled solutions in the financial services sector. You will work closely with business and IT stakeholders on transformation initiatives for banks, insurance companies, and investment firms, gaining exposure to modern payment platforms, digital finance, and system integrations in a dynamic consulting environment.
Imagine working on projects like
- Preparing New Pan-European Solutions – You analyze how regulation and new technology will transform banking operations. You structure, design, and consult with clients on final solutions. Within months or years, you'll see the results of your work rolled out across Europe.
- Open Finance and API Integration – You design solutions enabling third parties secure access to financial data. You're part of the shift that moves institutions to a new level of working with customer data and launching innovative products born from this data analysis .
What matters to us
- Completed university degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance , or a comparable field; candidates with an interdisciplinary background (e.g. business combined with technology, digital transformation, payments, or financial services) are also welcome
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience , ideally in financial services, consulting, banking, payments, fintech, or a related financial environment
- Good understanding of, or strong interest in, technology‑enabled financial services and digital financial solutions
- Interest in how business requirements are translated into digital and technical solutions , including areas such as payment platforms, digital banking solutions, APIs and system integrations, automation, and data‑driven financial processes
- Ability to structure, analyze, and clearly communicate complex financial and technical topics
- Excellent skills in using tools for collaboration, documentation, and presentations (e.g. MS Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Experience using German at B2-C1 level and English at C1 level in a professional environment
- Experience or knowledge in payments, open finance, embedded finance, transaction banking, digital banking, fintech platforms, financial services regulation or compliance, or project work for banks, fintechs, or large enterprise clients
