Job Title

Enterprise Analytics Intern

Job Purpose

The Enterprise Analytics Intern will support business teams by transforming data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across Hormel Foods. This role provides hands-on experience in analytics, category management, revenue growth management, and sales performance reporting while partnering with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and trends. The intern will develop analytical, storytelling, and problem-solving skills through meaningful projects that support enterprise growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

Analyze category, consumer, customer, and sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and business risks
Create and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reports using enterprise analytics tools
Support enterprise analytical initiatives through market, consumer, and competitive analysis
Assist in developing recommendations that improve business performance, market share, and customer outcomes
Conduct ad hoc analyses to answer key business questions from stakeholders
Translate complex data findings into clear and compelling presentations for business partners
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Revenue Growth Management, and Insights
Monitor category and industry trends to provide actionable business recommendations
Present project findings and recommendations to department leadership at the conclusion of the internship

Required Qualifications

Must graduate between August 2027, December 2027, May 2028 with a Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Professional Selling, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis tools
Possess knowledge of syndicated data, spreadsheets, databases, and category management tools. Experience with PowerBI and Tableau or similar analytical tools would be beneficial.
Experience working with large datasets and presenting findings
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Interest in consumer-packaged goods, retail analytics, category management, or business intelligence preferred

Duration

Our summer internship program runs 10-12 weeks and starts in late May and ends in early August.

Hours

This is a temporary, full-time, hourly position. Interns can expect to work approximately 40 hours per week and may be eligible for overtime based on business needs.

This is an on-site position based out of our office in Eden Prairie, MN.
