Maintenance Supervisor

About The Role
Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for safety, upkeep, and team development? As Maintenance Supervisor at Chartwell, you’ll ensure the residence is safe, functional, and welcoming for our residents and staff. You’ll oversee daily maintenance operations, lead a dedicated team, and support a clean and efficient environment that our residents are proud to call home.
Shift details - Tuesday - Saturday - 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Reports to Maintenance Manager
What You’ll Do
- Lead and schedule maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure high standards and timely service
- Perform and supervise minor repairs in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems
- Plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules to keep all areas of the residence in top condition
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations, including drills and safety audits
- Source and manage maintenance supplies and vendor services cost-effectively
- Respond to resident and family concerns, and escalate as needed to the General Manager
What You’ll Bring
- Trade certification or maintenance training preferred
- Experience with carpentry, plumbing, painting, and equipment preferred
- Supervisory or leadership experience in maintenance or building operations
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills; able to plan and prioritize work
- Clear communicator with strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of safety procedures within healthcare an asset
- Flexible for on-call and varied hours
- Valid Driver’s License, or reliable means of transportation

Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license may be required
- Ability to perform physical duties, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and climbing
- Must carry a company-issued phone and respond to emergency situations as needed
- Comfortable using AI and other digital platform systems and tools to support daily work
- Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
