Education

• Bachelor of Chemical Dependency
• A degree acceptable by the employer with relevant experience

Other Education and Training

• Bachelor of Social Work is acceptable

Knowledge and Abilities

• Know of community resources to support clients/families dealing w/addiction
• Knowledge in applicable best practice models/current research/relapse prevention
• Knowledge in individual, family, group, and crisis counselling methods
• Knowledge in group dynamics
• Knowledge of criminal justice system & correlation between offending behaviours.
• Ability to promote healthy lifestyles with diverse populations
• Apply crisis/problem solving with clients w/ addiction/mental health issues
• Ability to accurately assess addictions and/or addiction related issues.
