About The Role
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced understanding of project and program management processes, including scope, schedule, cost, resources, risk, quality, communication, stakeholder management, and change management.
- Strong working knowledge of PLM, NPD/NPI, stage-gate governance, product release, and lifecycle decision processes.
- Working knowledge of engineering, manufacturing operations, supply chain, procurement, quality systems, regulatory requirements, service readiness, and production readiness.
- Knowledge of requirements management, Engineering Change Management, change control, configuration management, document control, and product data governance.
- Ability to manage multiple complex programs, priorities, stakeholders, dependencies, and deliverables with limited supervision.
- Ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional teams without direct authority, resolve conflict, negotiate commitments, and facilitate difficult conversations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-level summaries, gate-review packages, presentations, dashboards, and program reports.
- Ability to identify program risks, schedule constraints, resource gaps, cost concerns, quality issues, and technical dependencies; develop mitigation plans and escalate appropriately.
- Strong business and financial acumen, including the ability to understand budgets, cost targets, forecasts, business cases, and value-based portfolio tradeoffs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with PLM, ERP, project management, scheduling, document-control, requirements, or reporting systems preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, drawings, specifications, requirements, bills of material, release documentation, quality records, and customer requirements.
- May require travel to customer sites, supplier locations, field locations, manufacturing facilities, industry events, or other NOV locations.
- Must maintain confidentiality and comply with all NOV safety, quality, business conduct, and HSE requirements.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of complex cross-functional product development and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs from concept through commercial release and deployment.
- Drive programs through all PLM and stage-gate milestones; establish gate plans, ensure required deliverables are complete, and secure timely reviews and approvals.
- Coordinate Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Operations, Product Management, Finance, and other stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop and manage integrated schedules, milestones, critical paths, dependencies, action registers, risk registers, issue logs, and decision records.
- Define and control program scope, requirements, budgets, cost targets, resources, quality objectives, and production-readiness criteria in alignment with business priorities.
- Proactively identify execution constraints and roadblocks; lead mitigation, recovery, and corrective-action plans and escalate decisions when needed.
- Facilitate program reviews, executive stage-gate reviews, decision meetings, and product release approvals; clearly communicate status, risks, opportunities, and required actions.
- Drive accountability and alignment across functional organizations without relying on direct authority; resolve conflicts, negotiate commitments, and hold action owners accountable.
- Coordinate requirements management, Engineering Change Management, change control, configuration management, technical documentation, and product release records.
- Coordinate supply-chain, sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, service, and operational-readiness activities to support successful production launch.
- Coordinate new product trials, customer or field deployments, feedback, lessons learned, and improvement actions in collaboration with product line and technical teams.
- Develop and maintain program dashboards, KPIs, portfolio reports, and executive summaries covering schedule, cost, quality, risk, decisions, and time-to-market.
- Manage and prioritize a portfolio of concurrent programs; identify resource conflicts and recommend sequencing, tradeoffs, or escalation based on business value and execution risk.
- Continuously improve PLM governance, stage-gate criteria, program-management tools, reporting practices, workflows, and cross-functional communication.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to developing project or program management resources and cross-functional team members.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned and comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Artificial Lift product development and lifecycle activities, including ESP systems and related technologies, from opportunity definition through product release and field deployment.
- Apply ESP, artificial lift, oil and gas, or similar industrial-product knowledge to support program decisions, technical and commercial alignment, and product line priorities.
- Coordinate local and global teams to support design maturity, documentation readiness, supplier readiness, manufacturing validation, quality approval, and field introduction.
- Partner with Product Management and product line leadership to align the development portfolio with customer needs, technology roadmaps, resource capacity, and strategic growth priorities.
- Support preparation of executive presentations, gate-review materials, product updates, technical documentation, case studies, and customer-facing materials as required.
- Promote consistent PLM practices, onboarding, coaching, lessons learned, and knowledge transfer across teams supporting the Artificial Lift product portfolio.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field required; technical degree preferred; advanced degree is a plus.
- Typically 5 or more years of relevant experience leading complex cross-functional projects or programs in product development, NPD/NPI, engineering, manufacturing, operations, or related roles.
- Demonstrated experience leading products through structured PLM or stage-gate processes from concept through production and commercial release.
- Strong experience within manufacturing, industrial equipment, oil and gas, energy services, artificial lift, ESP, or a similar technical product environment preferred.
- Experience managing portfolios of concurrent product development programs while balancing schedule, quality, cost, resource, and business priorities.
- ESP systems experience and/or artificial lift product knowledge strongly preferred.
- PMP or comparable project/program management certification is a plus; demonstrated product development leadership is more important than certification.
