ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Manager, Partnership Engagement works directly with the Director and Head of Partnerships and collaborates closely across all GWI teams - Career Advancement, Communications and Marketing, and Programs Teams to manage and support the growing community of Girls Who Invest partners - primarily investment management firms. This position plays a central role in partner account management and coordinating programmatic engagement opportunities for GWI. The Manager, Partnership Engagement will also manage the Associate, Partnerships.
This role will lead on all aspects of partner engagement including: executing program-related engagement opportunities, event planning and management, supporting the internship placement process, partner communications, and other opportunities for partner visibility. The Manager, Partnership Engagement will ensure our Program Partners experience exceptional engagement with GWI’s mission, scholars and alumni.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Management and Engagement
- Identify strategies and opportunities to cultivate and strengthen GWI’s relationships with partners through programmatic engagement opportunities to maximize value for partners, scholars and alumni.
- Manage the direct engagement of investment management program partners in the full range of GWI’s offerings, from internship through to alumni programming.
- Lead and manage partner-related event curation and management, including executing on planning and logistics.
- Onboard new partners through leads tracking and relationship lifecycle management.
- Support the annual partner renewal process by coordinating feedback communications, scheduling calls, and managing follow-ups including renewal paperwork and invoicing with finance team.
Internal Leadership and Team Engagement
- Support the Head of Partnerships and Giving, executive leadership, and Directors in managing the engagements across 130+partners and funders.
- Collaborate closely with the Career Advancement, Program and Admissions teams to align partnership activities with programmatic needs, including the coordination of panel and keynote speakers for the Summer Intensive Program at Wharton, coordinating the logistics around partner-hosted lunches and events for GWI Scholars and Alumni, securing attendance at flagship GWI events such as the Alumni Conference reception, partner outreach for event hosting and volunteer engagements.
- Collaborate with the Programs and Career Advancement teams to support programmatic initiatives such as: securing partner nominations for GWI’s retention and advancement programs, partner hosts for GWI events, volunteer opportunities, and attendance at GWI events.
- Design and implement systems and processes to allow GWI to scale partner engagement while still offering a high-touch experience.
- Manage and mentor the Partnerships Associate including supporting them in their own portfolio.
- Develop and refine metrics to assess partner impact, providing data-driven insights and reports for the Head of Partnerships and Giving, executive leadership, and the Board.
ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The Manager, Partnership Engagement will have experience in client facing roles, relationship management and events, ideally working with corporate partners in financial services. They will be entrepreneurial, highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to partner effectively internally and externally.
A strong candidate would bring/be
- 7+ years of experience in account management, client management, or events management, ideally with corporate/institutional partnerships; fundraising or financial services experience a plus.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and demands with short lead-times in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing and executing partner-facing events, including planning, logistics, stakeholder coordination, and day-of execution.
- Strong interpersonal awareness and diplomacy, with the ability to navigate relationships and communicate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
- Dynamic and persuasive both verbally and in writing, including the ability to put together corporate presentations.
- Demonstrated experience using CRMs, data and analytics to identify trends and opportunities and assist with Board and partner reporting.
- A proven people manager and team player who is collaborative, inclusive, highly organized, incredibly responsive, and willing to jump in where necessary.
- Sound judgment and adaptability, with the ability to navigate and lead through dynamic, ambiguous situations thoughtfully.

LOCATION AND TRAVEL: This role is based in New York, NY and would be in the office at least 3 days per week as part of a hybrid office model. Travel required occasionally including during GWI’s summer program. Event attendance required on select evenings and weekends.
Current compensation range expected: $110,000 - $120,000 per year. The starting pay will depend on a variety of factors that may include but are not limited to experience, education, training, and certification. GWI offers a strong and competitive benefits package.
