NE06 Position Summary
The Program Assistant supports Film and Digital Media operations by managing production equipment, assisting students and faculty with gear and studio use, and maintaining the Green Screen Studio and Podcast Room. The position may also assist with program events, promotions, and presentations. MAJOR DUTIES
- Checks out, maintains, organizes, and troubleshoots camera, audio, and other media equipment.
- Assists students and faculty with equipment setup, operation, and basic technical troubleshooting.
- Supports faculty, student, and community projects in the Green Screen Studio and Podcast Room.
- Assists with film and digital media productions, including recording, audio/video editing, and equipment setup.
- Sets up and provides technical support for program screenings, presentations, workshops, and special events.
- Assists with program outreach and promotional materials, including digital media and presentations.
- Maintains organized equipment and production spaces and reports equipment or supply needs.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
- Knowledge of camera, audio, lighting, and other media production equipment.
- Knowledge of green screen production, studio equipment, and video switchers.
- Knowledge of audio recording and editing techniques and software.
- Knowledge of video editing software, production workflows, and basic broadcast standards.
- Knowledge of equipment organization, checkout procedures, and basic troubleshooting.
- Skill in communicating technical information to students, faculty, and community members.
- Ability to work independently, follow established procedures, and maintain a reliable work schedule.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Program Coordinator assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.

COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
- The work consists of related technical, equipment, studio, and video editing duties. Varying project requirements and workflows contribute to the complexity of the position.
- The purpose of this position is to provide technical and operational support for the Film and Digital Media Arts program, including maintaining production equipment and supporting studio and media projects. Success in this position contributes to effective program operations, student success, and the completion of educational and community projects.

- Contacts are typically with co-workers, other college personnel, faculty, staff, students and members of the general public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending or crouching. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects and distinguishes between shades of color.
- The work is typically performed in an office, classroom or computer room.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
None.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree in Film and Digital Media or a related field; significant coursework toward an associate degree in a related field; or two to three years of relevant work experience.
