Sleep Technician

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $19.50–$23.50 . The actual compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education, and location.

What You’ll Do

As a Sleep Technician, you will help patients feel comfortable and confident using their prescribed sleep therapy equipment. You will provide equipment setup, education, technical support, and compassionate customer service while encouraging patients to stay consistent with their therapy.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Prepare and configure sleep therapy equipment according to prescribed settings.
  • Set up equipment and teach patients and caregivers how to use, clean, and maintain it safely.
  • Explain equipment features, warranties, and important safety information.
  • Answer patient questions and troubleshoot technical equipment issues.
  • Follow up with patients regarding equipment use, therapy concerns, and compliance.
  • Encourage and support patients in following their prescribed therapy.
  • Assess and reassess patients’ care and service needs throughout their contact with the organization.
  • Develop and update basic patient care plans based on physician orders and assessment findings, when required.
  • Monitor patients’ responses to the equipment and services provided.
  • Accurately document all patient and customer interactions.
  • Address patient concerns and refer complaints to the appropriate team member when necessary.
  • Collect and process patient payments.
  • Complete documentation related to equipment delivery, pickup, exchange, repair, or replacement.
  • Promote a safe environment for patients, employees, and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least two years of in-person customer service experience.
  • Strong customer service and patient-support skills.
  • Ability to clearly explain equipment instructions and technical information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with patients, caregivers, and team members.
  • English proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn electronic patient-record and equipment-management systems.

Experience working with patients, sleep therapy equipment, home medical equipment, or healthcare services is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to occasionally stand and walk and frequently remain seated.
  • Ability to handle and operate medical equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds .
