About The Role

Do you want to join a global leader in renewable energy infrastructure? If so, CIP Mexico is currently looking for a Development Manager to join our team in Mexico.

Role

The Development Manager will join CIP's Mexico platform at a pivotal moment. CIP is advancing private investment in Mexico's energy transition starting the with delivery of its first two utility-scale solar power plants and with further large-scale investment planned over the next years. The role forms an integral part of the project development team, directly reporting to the Development Director.

The Development Manager is responsible for advancing development projects to reach Final Investment Decision (FID), as well as designing project workstreams to realize profitable renewable investment development, assign workstream leads and ensure delivery

We are searching for a senior development leader who can engage counterparties, help reach decisions, coordinate interfaces across workstreams, validate project maturity, and protect the owner's regulatory, contractual, and commercial position. The role will be based primarily in Mexico City with travel to project sites and other relevant locations."

Responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to

  • Manage renewable energy project development in Mexico from origination through construction readiness, ensuring milestones, schedules, and budgets are met.
  • Identify and advance new opportunities through site selection, feasibility studies, and acquisitions.
  • Secure permits, regulatory approvals, land rights, and interconnection agreements, coordinating with utilities, authorities, and system operators.
  • Build and manage relationships with landowners, communities, government bodies, and industry stakeholders.
  • Oversee external consultants and internal multidisciplinary teams across technical, legal, environmental, and financial workstreams.
  • Manage interconnection and transmission activities, including coordination with utilities, system operators, technical advisors, and relevant authorities.
  • Monitor project risks, economics, and financing activities, supporting investment decisions.
  • Prepare executive reporting for management, shareholders, and lenders, and represents the company in negotiations, forums, and strategic partnerships.

You

You will have a demonstrated history of project managing major infrastructure projects, ideally in the renewable energy sector. Moreover, you are a highly responsible and motivated individual who is thriving in a highly effective and innovative environment.

We look for the following in the candidate

  • Solid communication and relationship-building skills with external stakeholders to help move the project forward
  • Solid knowledge of permitting laws and regulations in the Mexican market, as well as an advanced commercial understanding
  • Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and align permitting with project needs
  • Organized, persistent, solution oriented.
  • Spanish fluency with functional business English (professional working proficiency).
