Role Summary
HS&E Senior Advisors provide, advice, guidance, support, leadership, assurance, documented arrangements, and continuous improvement activities in the field of Occupational Health and Safety and Environment across a diverse geographical area.
The post holder supports facilities (current and future) and the creation and management of the organisations supply chain.
The HS&E Senior Advisor is pivotal in the creation, implementation and delivery of suitable and scalable Health, Safety and Environmental arrangements throughout the organisation and its supply chain. The role sits within the Occupational HS&E team reporting via the HS&E Manager. The post holder will work collaboratively with other functions to manage and create current and future facilities as well as effective partnerships via the supply chain.
What we’ll need you to do
- Provide SME advice, guidance, support and leadership in Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental protection across the organisation and its supply chain.
- Create, implement, develop arrangements, and perform risk-based assurance activities to ensure that Rolls-Royce SMR maintains a suitable, scalable and certified Safety Management System (SMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).
- On behalf of the organisation, lead the facilitation and positively promote our arrangements during assurance activities e.g. ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 external certification, customer due diligence .
- Delivering agreed business improvement plans.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to engineering, design and operational functions to -
- Fulfil their duties and the applications of best practice and industry expectations.
- Conduct specialist safety assessments e.g., HAZOPs and HAZIDs
- Identify data requirements and set up arrangements to collect these, validating the data and present as required with reduction/ improvement actions.
- Respond proactively to incidents, track incidents, trends and actions to closure and perform investigations to identify root cause.
- Support regulatory intervention sessions.
- Support the development of a health and safety culture and drive for HS&E excellence.
- Setting and evaluation of suppliers HS&E arrangements.
What’s in It for You
A salary between £50,650 - £66,500, £2,200 benefit allowance, 12.5% bonus opportunity, 6x pensionable life assurance, 50% income protection, 28 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, and a £250 new ‑ joiner payment —alongside opportunities for development and progression.
Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a competency‑based interview and may be asked to provide evidence of document management capability. This role requires BPSS checks as part of our onboarding process.

- Obtaining Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance
- Satisfactory completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
