Summary of Job Duties

The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to high-impact publications, collaborate with a broad network of research and management partners, assist in developing competitive research proposals, and help shape future research directions within the Snowden Waterfowl Center of Excellence. The successful candidate should possess strong quantitative and analytical skills, experience with spatial ecology and movement analyses, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment.

Qualifications

Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in wildlife science, landscape ecology, geospatial science, waterfowl ecology, or a closely related field.

Preferred qualifications include experience with

  • GPS telemetry and animal movement analyses.
  • Geospatial analysis, GIS, and remote sensing.
  • Statistical, ecological, and machine-learning modeling using modern analytical software (e.g., R or Python).
  • Google Earth Engine and cloud-based geospatial analysis.
  • Spatial visualization, mapping applications, and predictive ecological modeling.

Applicants must possess a valid U.S. driver's license (or obtain one within 60 days of employment). The position will include fieldwork, overnight travel, and attendance at scientific conferences.
