About The Role

The Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests and plays a critical role in creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience. This position is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, coordinating seating arrangements, and maintaining effective communication with restaurant management to ensure exceptional guest service. The Host/Hostess must consistently demonstrate professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail while supporting restaurant operations in a fast-paced environment.

  • Welcome guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Verify reservations and efficiently manage guest seating using established seating plans and reservation procedures.
  • Escort guests to their tables and provide a warm introduction to their dining experience.
  • Address guest inquiries regarding menu offerings, restaurant amenities, operating hours, and special events.
  • Thank guests for dining with us and provide a sincere farewell as they depart.
  • Recognize and provide exceptional service to VIP guests, including Diamond and Seven Stars members.
  • Maintain guest satisfaction by communicating wait times accurately and professionally.
  • Utilize OpenTable and other reservation systems to manage bookings and walk-in guests.

  • Enter walk-in reservations and maintain accurate guest information in accordance with established business practices.
  • Review daily reservations and seating assignments prior to service.
  • Coordinate with management regarding table availability, station assignments, special requests, and VIP reservations.
  • Monitor dining room flow and communicate seating trends, guest volume, and reservation updates to management in real time.
  • Maintain reserved seating blocks for VIP guests and communicate adjustments when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of menu offerings, ingredients, preparation methods, and daily specials.
  • Promote featured menu items, restaurant offerings, and special events when appropriate.
  • Attend all required training programs, pre-shift meetings, and educational sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with service staff, bartenders, and management to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Learn and follow all departmental service standards and operating procedures.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree in hospitality, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Host/Hostess, Greeter, or Guest Service Representative in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Experience with reservation management systems such as OpenTable preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications, required.
  • Exceptional guest service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain poised and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to accurately manage reservations, guest flow, and seating arrangements.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations and hospitality service standards preferred.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a shift.
  • Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements and multitask in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
