Project Information

ACCIONA is delivering the Clean Energy Link – North program for Western Power, a landmark transmission upgrade across the South West Interconnected System. The scope includes new transmission lines, underground cabling and substation works connecting Padbury, Wangara, Neerabup and Northern Terminal to Henley Brook. This program will unlock more than 1GW of new renewable energy for Western Australia. It's one of the state's most significant clean energy infrastructure investments.

About the Opportunity

As Construction Manager, you will lead the end to end construction delivery of a major high voltage transmission project. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will direct a multidisciplinary team of engineers and supervisors, oversee subcontractors, and ensure works are delivered safely, on time and within budget. You will manage construction methodology, quality, risk and stakeholder engagement across the project lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities

  • Set construction methodology and plans that meet budget, constructability and design requirements
  • Identify and manage design and construction risk, embedding mitigation strategies throughout delivery
  • Track quantities and costs across design and construction to protect budget accuracy
  • Develop and manage the contract program, capturing delays and assessing claims and extensions of time
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client and key project stakeholders
  • Lead construction delivery of major transmission works
  • Manage subcontractors to meet quality and program targets
  • Track project risk and apply effective mitigation strategies

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, or a Trade Qualification in Linework or Industrial Electrical
  • Recognised front line leadership qualification highly desirable
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a leadership role on a major project
  • Significant experience delivering major high voltage transmission line projects
  • Strong track record leading engineering, construction and field crews
  • Experience managing high risk work activities in complex environments
  • Sound understanding of construction methodology, budget and risk management
